Nahyan bin Zayed Sponsors the Graduation Ceremony of National Defence College and War College Courses

His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, attended the graduation ceremony of the 11th batch of the National Defense course and the 5th War course from the War College, held today at the Joint Command and Staff College in Abu Dhabi. 

His Highness congratulated the graduates, wishing them success in fulfilling their duties to the nation and contributing to the protection of its achievements and interests. He urged them to utilise the skills and academic knowledge they gained during the course to enhance the capabilities of the national institutions they belong to. His Highness emphasized that this academic edifice is a living symbol of strategic intellectual maturity, aligned with the vision of the wise leadership. 

His Highness applauded the role of the National Defence College and the War College in preparing and training this elite group of national military and civilian leaders capable of keeping pace with the rapid changes in diplomatic, economic, informational, and military fields. 

The National Defence College and War College, through their academic curricula, contribute to enhancing the skills and competencies of their students, by developing their abilities in research, analysis, evaluation, and the formulation and implementation of strategic plans that serve the supreme national goals and interests. 

The ceremony began with the UAE national anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Afterward, Major General Salem bin Harmal Al Shamsi, Commander of the National Defence College, delivered a speech welcoming the patron of the ceremony and the distinguished guests. He expressed the deepest gratitude, loyalty, and appreciation to the prudent leadership for its profound interest in developing and enhancing the national capabilities and leaderships in the field of defence and national security and for its continuous support to the National Defence College and the War College, which enhances their capabilities and contributes to achieving their goals efficiently and effectively. 

Major General Salem bin Harmal Al Shamsi stated that the role of the National Defence College and the War College is to prepare and train senior military and civilian leaders in security, strategy, and operational fields. Students receive comprehensive education in multiple areas, enabling them to assume responsibility in decision-making and crisis management. 

He added that the National Defence College and the War College, in implementation of the directives and aspirations of the wise leadership, strive to keep pace with developments in various fields and monitor changes in the strategic environment to develop educational programs and maintain vision and mission for the achievement of goals and aspirations.
