The Joint Operations Command of the Ministry of Defence announced the dispatch of the fifth Emirati aid ship from the Port of Hamriya in Dubai to the Egyptian city of Al-Arish on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. The ship is carrying 5,112 tons of humanitarian aid to meet the needs of the Palestinian people in Gaza, as part of “Operation Al-Faris Al-Shahim 3.”

The ship carries food supplies, shelter materials, medical equipment, and five ambulances. The shipment was secured by the UAE Red Crescent Authority, the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works. To date, over 34,000 tons of aid have been sent to Gaza.

As part of “Operation Al-Faris Al-Shahim 3,” the UAE has launched several initiatives, including the establishment of two field hospitals—one inside Gaza and the other a floating hospital off the coast of Al-Arish—along with five automated bakeries. Additionally, flour has been provided for eight existing bakeries in Gaza, and six desalination plants have been set up, producing two million gallons of water daily, benefiting more than 600,000 people in Gaza. Furthermore, 53 successful airdrops of humanitarian aid have been carried out in isolated areas that were difficult to reach, with a total of 3,623 tons of relief supplies delivered as part of the “Good Birds” humanitarian operation.

The UAE continues its efforts to ensure the steady flow and distribution of aid through all available means to help alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

This ongoing relief effort by sea, land, and air underscores the UAE’s long-standing and steadfast commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, as it continues to provide all forms of humanitarian aid to its Palestinian brothers.
