Beirut Port received an aid ship from the UAE on Friday, carrying 2,000 tons of urgent relief supplies for the brotherly Lebanese people, as part of the “UAE with You, Lebanon” campaign, which launched in early October.
This ship is part of the ongoing humanitarian support from the UAE to the Lebanese people amid the current crisis, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and under the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Diab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Court for Developmental Affairs and Martyrs’ Families and President of the International Humanitarian Affairs Council.
This new aid shipment reflects the UAE’s commitment to standing with the Lebanese people in difficult times. The ship carried 1,000 tons of food supplies and 1,000 tons of various shelter items, bringing the total amount of aid sent so far to 2,610 tons.
It is worth noting that, as part of its support for the Lebanese people under the current circumstances, and based on the directives of His Highness the President of the UAE, the country launched the “UAE with You, Lebanon” campaign on October 4. This initiative included sending 14 planes, some in cooperation with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. Additionally, the “UAE with You, Lebanon” campaign gathered 1,300 tons of relief supplies, with the participation of 24 UAE charitable organizations and thousands of volunteers, reflecting the UAE’s sincere approach to humanitarian solidarity and cooperation.
