His Excellency Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, led a delegation of senior officers from the Ministry of Defence to participate in the 11th Xiangshan Forum organized by the Chinese Ministry of Defence in the capital, Beijing, from September 12 to 14.
The forum saw participation from representatives of over 100 countries and international organizations, including experts, academics, and a number of senior government officials in the field of security and defence. They gathered to discuss various current global security issues and topics of mutual interest.
On the sidelines of the forum, His Excellency Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Fadhel Al Mazrouei met with Dong Jun, Minister of Defense of China. Their discussions focused on topics of mutual interest, particularly in the defence and security sectors, emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation and the outstanding strategic partnership and exploring ways to enhance and develop it in a manner that serves common national interests.
The forum, held this year under the theme “Promoting Peace for a Shared Future”, aimed to exchange ideas and perspectives on the most prominent military and security challenges on the international stage, as well as to propose possible solutions and visions for addressing them. Established in 2006, the Beijing Xiangshan Forum is a high-level platform that addresses security and defence issues in the Asia-Pacific region and holds significant importance internationally.
The participation of the Ministry of Defence in the 11th Xiangshan Forum reaffirms the strategic cooperation between the UAE and the People’s Republic of China in various fields, especially in military and defence areas.
