His Excellency Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defense Affairs attended today the graduation ceremony of the 4th War Course at the Joint Command and Staff College. The ceremony was also attended by His Excellency Lt. General Staff Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and a number of senior MOD officers and officials.
The ceremony commenced with the UAE national anthem followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, after which Brigadier Staff Engineer Ahmed Al Mualla, Deputy Commandant of War College, delivered a speech in which he welcomed HE the Minister of Defence, Patron of the event, and the attendees. He said that the War College devoted its efforts to the preparation of commanders who are capable of meeting the country’s aspirations and protecting its gains and achievements. It developed the capabilities of its personnel to understand the aspects of the strategic security environment, enhanced their skills of leadership and strategic planning and thought, prepared national and military strategies and developed the concepts of preparation of the State and management of its resources to defend the country.
The Deputy Commandant of the War College said, “We understand that the influence of nations is no longer measured just by its artillery ranges; rather, power should be accompanied by knowledge and the art of utilization of power, including innovation. Therefore, we have charted a clear path to achieve the College’s mission, deriving its principles from the insight of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The College Commandant concluded his speech by congratulating the graduated officers, saying, “Dear graduated brothers… You have exerted a valuable effort to meet the course requirements. You have worked creatively, benefited and contributed until your efforts were crowned with success. Thus, you have been up to expectations.”
At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Excellency Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defense, presented the graduates with certificates and awards before taking a group photo with the graduates.
